ABOUT US

We have lived on the Isle of Barra since 2002 where we work as diver fishermen, we decided to turn our hobby of 2 years into a business, and Barra Power Kiting was born.

Nick has been involved in the outdoor sector since the late 1980’s, where he gained a broad base of both land and water based qualifications. These range from Mountain Leader (Summer), BCU/SCA Advanced Senior Instructor (Canoeing), BASI Snowboarding Instructor, RYA Rescue Boat Coxswain, to BSAC Sport Diver.

Kay learnt to dive whilst on the Falkland Islands and started accompanying me on shellfish dives part time in 2001 and then full time in 2002.  Kay is also an accomplished skier and canoeist.  Whilst in her last job at Loch Insh Watersports Centre near Aviemore she was employed as an Administrator and part time Instructor.  For the past 4 years she has worked along side me as an integral part of a two person creel fishing and shellfish diving team.
